There was a time when we laughed and joked about silly things?
Things your dad did,
Things your aunt would say
And when we played cards for pennies at Christmas in the valley.
Do you remember, because I couldn't?
There was a time when I washed your face, brushed your hair
And sent you off to school,
Saw you grow, get married and have your own children.
Do you remember, because I couldn't?
We had so many memories together,
But eventually I couldn't remember any of them.
You have to remember them for me now
And talk about them with your children.
